Last week, we had a blast celebrating the women in our lives at our Literacy Paint Night. We read a book titled Maybe Something Beautiful, and we had a wonderful paint session led by Chipman/Willards Art Teacher, Ms. Zimmerman! 3rd Grade Teacher Ms. Wise shared some reading comprehension and writing strategies that our scholars can practice during the summer. It was an awesome time!

Board of Education monthly meetings will take place on these second Tuesdays through the summer:
June 11 at 1:30 p.m.,
July 9 at 7 p.m.,
and Aug. 13 at 1:30 p.m.
The Board of Education meets on the second Tuesday of each month, at 7 p.m. in odd-numbered months and 1:30 p.m. in even-numbered months.
Note: The date of the May 2024 Board meeting was moved from May 14 to May 7 due to the Maryland Primary Election on the later date. The meeting time was adjusted from 7 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to remove a scheduling conflict with the Wicomico County budget hearing the evening of May 7.

The Wicomico Teacher of the Year Spring Celebration was a very special night of celebrating top teachers as well as supporters from the community. Here are some highlights from the evening, including recognition of the 2024 Friends of Education, Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates and the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council. Thanks to both organizations for what they do to support youth both now and in the past.

On Thursday, April 25th, the District Spring Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meeting will be held from 5:30-7 at Prince Street School. Families that register for the event will receive dinner. Interpreters and childcare will be provided.

Today is the last day of instruction for Wicomico students before spring break. Schools dismiss 3 hours early today. The school system will be closed Thursday through Monday for everyone. On Tuesday, April 2, the Central Office and school offices will reopen. Schools will reopen for instruction on Wednesday, April 3. Have a great spring break!
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Micah Stauffer will hold a Superintendent’s Open Door Session 4-6PM Wednesday, March 27 to hear people’s concerns, ideas or questions on any issue involving Wicomico Schools. Invitations for the Spring PAC meeting and Heart Beats dance will be sent home this evening. Please join us for a heart healthy night full of fun, dancing, and activities for all! This event will be held on Tuesday, March 26th, with dinner being served during the PAC meeting from 5-6, and the dance taking place from 6-8.
Although there is no entry fee for the PAC meeting, tickets are $5 for the dance. Tickets will be sold at all lunch shifts starting today (3/15). NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR-NO EXCEPTIONS!
