This is an important message regarding the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) 2024 tests and results. Your child may have participated in the MCAP assessments this past Spring. The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has now released data for the following subjects: English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
This week, your child will receive their individual score report(s) from their teacher on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH. Please expect them to share this important information with you.
If you have any questions or need further assistance in understanding your child’s performance, or the overall school results, feel free to contact your child’s school or reach out to Karen Hitch, Supervisor of Assessment and Accountability, in our district Office of Assessment and Accountability at 410-677-4477.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday October 1st, for our annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration night. More information will be coming home this week.
Finally, remember we will start allowing cupcakes and snacks on October 1st. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Also, if there is any change in your student’s regular transportation, a note or email must be sent to the office by 2PM each day needed. We do not except notes for multiple days or events. The Emergency Contact List is for our office to contact someone when a parent/guardian cannot be reached in an emergency. This is not a list of people who can contact or pick up your students at any time.

Sunday Message September 15, 2024Good Evening Gator Families. This is your assistant principal Mrs. Binns. Last week was a fun and productive week for our students and their families. The Title 1 Back to School Open House was informative and well attended. A special thanks to Mrs. Beebe, Ms. Williams and all the staff that helped to make the evening a success. Our students completed the Fall iReady and MAP assessments. Teachers will share the results with students and families sometime this week. For students who took the TAD (Thinking and Doing) test, participant results will be mailed this week.This week is Community School Coordinators’ Appreciation Week. Help us show Appreciation to Mrs. Kyle Beebe our Community School Coordinator. When you see her in the car rider’s line toot your horn and give her a wave.Also, join the “Resiliency Road Trip” series, led by Frank Kros. This series aims to empower adults who guide and nurture children by equipping them with practical and powerful skills to shape resilient minds. This will be held on September 18, 2024, at the James M. Bennett High School Auditorium. Remember we here at Glen follow the county dress code, and bubble slides are not permitted. Any change in your student’s regular means of transportation but be submitted daily to the office by way of email or note by 2 PM. An email must be submitted to Glen@mywcps.org from the email address we have on file. Students dropped off by car must get out on the passenger’s side or escorted to the side walk by an adult in the vehicle. Thank you for helping keep our students safe.I look forward to another Gator-rific Week!

Save the Date (Sept. 17)! State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carey M. Wright will kick off her statewide series of Community Forums with a Community Forum in Wicomico County on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The forum will be held at Salisbury Middle School and will take place from 5-6 p.m. It is open to the entire community to attend.
Welcome back today (Tuesday, Sept. 3) to all students in grades 1-6 and 9 (all grades attend at Pittsville Elementary and Middle, only Grade 6 attends at Mardela Middle & High).
